Call to Artists 2016

UPDATE: Hi folks, we’re seeing some crazy submissions so far this year. To clean them up, the process is as follows:
1. If you are a new artist, please check that you are in our location. The area bordered by Park, Victoria, Weber, and Union streets is our zone, and we won’t be going outside that zone. If you are outside that zone, it is up to you to find someone in that area to act as your host.
2. Please contact Jakki before making any payments to us. Her email is info@centralartwalk.com. In fact, please contact Jakki before doing anything else.
3. There are three types of people on the sign-up sheet: HOST ONLY, HOST AND ARTIST, and GUEST OF A HOST. These should be self-explanatory, but …:
– a HOST ONLY – isn’t an artist, doesn’t pay a fee, and doesn’t show art
– a GUEST OF A HOST – is an artist, pays a fee, and shows art.
– a HOST AND ARTIST – has a studio, pays a fee, and shows art.
CALLING ALL ARTISTS!
If you are an artist living in the areas bordered by Park, Victoria, Weber, and Union streets, and want to be part of the community, please join us this year. If you are from outside that area, but have a friend who lives in our location, consider asking them to host for you and other artists. Or, come to our meetings, and we’ll find someone to host for you (email us at info@centralartwalk.com).
The K-W Central Art Walk is a team effort. Artists that are accepted will be expected to do their part in distributing posters and brochures in a timely manner. We expect artists to also be involved in decisions regarding details of the art walk. We also expect artists to attend at least 2 meetings, one of which will be the follow-up in November so we can de-brief. We are hoping to turn that meeting into a fun event.
To join us this year, please complete the following application and submit as per the instructions.
Also, check out our Fees page for information on pricing.

Artist Bio – 2015: D. H. McKee

D. H. McKee is a contemporary abstract artist, photographer, and writer. He was born in London, Ontario, but calls Kitchener his home. Drawing inspiration from the great abstract expressionists of the 20th century, his works are heavy with colour, box and line patterns, giving a dark, geometric moodiness to his paintings.
